A shark-like relative of modern rays, the 5-foot-long Protospinax cruised lagoons in southern Germany about 150 million years ago.

On the sea floor is Pseudorhina, an ancient representative of angel sharks. Pseudorhina has an oddly flattened body well adapted for life on the sea floor, and is seen here capturing an ammonite (an extinct creature related to the modern Nautilus).
