And the first went, and poured out his vial upon the earth; and there fell a noisome and grievous sore upon the men which had the mark of the beast, and upon them which worshipped his image." Rev.16:2

In this the first Vial, the target was men and the grievous sores they had received for worshipping the beast's image and taking his mark.

Obviously it is different from the 1st Trumpet, " hail and fire mingled with blood cast upon the earth burning up 1/3 of the trees and all green grass", and many would say then it is not identical or John's prophesying again about what he wrote earlier as shown by the angel.

However, this to me isn't enough proof, as all the other Vials mirror the corresponding Trumpets almost exactly.

As argument to defend my conclusion that the Vials and the Trumpets are the same, I would remind the reader, that much of what is recorded in Matthew, Mark and Luke differ in their recollection of what Jesus said.  They do not, as this 1st Vial and Trumpet, contradict each other, but simply add to the overall remembrance.  See Premise Behind the Chart for more on this!!

However, as some would teach the grass and trees represent types of men, would certainly lend credence to the mirroring of each of these two.

One should however note, that in each of these 1st Trumpets and Vials in each of the verses, they were cast upon the earth!!!

" And the second angel poured out his vial upon the sea; and it became as the blood of a dead man: and every living soul died in the sea."  Rev.16:3

In this Vial the sea became as the blood of a dead man.  Additionally every living soul in the sea died.  I take this to mean every living human, not creature as 1/3 of the creatures died in the corresponding Trumpet.

Many would use this distinction to disprove that the trumpets and vials are the same event.

If this vial is the same as the trumpet, where it was a meteor that hit the sea, no doubt something drastic would happen to the sea itself.  As this vial says, it became as the blood of a dead man, as the result of something making contact with the sea, such as the large mountain mentioned in the corresponding trumpet.

Just because only 1/3 of the ships were destroyed and 1/3 of the creatures died in the 2nd trumpet, that does not contradict what is contained in this 2nd vial.  Ships nor creatures are mentioned in this vial.

The stating that all living souls died in this vial does not contradict anything mentioned in the corresponding trumpet.

So the question begs to be raised, " why all the men, and only 1/3 of the creatures and 1/3 of the ships as in the trumpet"?

I cannot answer that question with any real substance.  I simply do not know.  But that does not mean I'm wrong in my assertions as to the similarities of the 2nd trumpet and 2nd vial.

As with the other trumpets and vials, this one also has the common denominator of it's being cast into the sea in both the trumpet and vial. A fact that remains constant throughout all the trumpets and vials.

3rd_vi1.jpg

And the third angel poured out his vial upon the rivers and fountains of waters; and they became blood. And I heard the angel of the waters say, Thou art righteous, O Lord, which art, and wast, and shalt be, because thou hast judged thus. For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and thou hast given them blood to drink; for they are worthy. And I heard another out of the altar say, Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are thy judgments." Rev.16:4-7

Reading the 3rd Trumpet, "And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters; And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter (Rev.8:10,11), we see the striking similarities.  In both instances the rivers and fountains of waters are the target and the bitter taste of the waters as blood.

Just what this star from heaven is has been speculated upon by many teachers.  Some believe it is radiation from nuclear fallout.  I do not know, but in my opinion this is a direct judgment from God as if a supernatural phenomenon.  Regardless of exactly what it is, the result is the same.

Also, going back to the 5th Seal we read, " And they cried with a loud voice, saying How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?"

In this 3rd Vial we see refers to the Lord's judging them that dwell on the earth who were guilty of the death of those that "were slain for the word of God, and the testimony which they held."   This does not however, in my opinion, indicate the beginning of his judgments, as they clearly began with the 1st Vial and Trumpet, but only states who they are intended for.  The 144,000/ manchild/two witnesses are not targeted as they are not responsible for the blood of the saints.

A similar reference is made in Rev.19:2, "For true and righteous are his judgments; for he hath judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand."  This verse is at the end of the tribulation when he is judging the "great whore".

" And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun; and power was given unto him to scorch men with fire.

And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and they repented not to give him glory."  Rev.16:8,9

5th_vi3.jpg

And the fifth angel poured out his vial upon the seat of the beast; and his kingdom was full of darkness; and they gnawed their tongues for pain,

And blasphemed the name of God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and repented not of their deeds." Rev.16:10,11

Still man will not repent. You can notice that both the 7th Trumpet and this seal are poured out on the seat of the beast.

" And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared.

And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.

For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.

Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.

And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon."  Rev.16:12-16

There are several things that need to be pointed out here in this 6th Seal.  Notice that first of all this Vial, just as it's corresponding Trumpet beside it, talks about the Euphrates River. In the trumpet it gives the number of the army that destroys 1/3 of the men of the earth, which is 200,000,000. This vial identifies the place and the time, as being Armageddon which we know to be the Battle in Megiddo outside Jerusalem when the Lord and his Army (all the resurrected/raptured saints, and the angels of Yahweh) destroy the armies of the world. After this the wheat and tares are separated in the next or final trumpet and vial.  The gathering happens at this vial and the battle is in the next vial.

All saints, means those raptured.  So somewhere between this vial and in the next, where the battle happens, the saints must be raptured.  Lo, and behold, the next verse written for this vial by John are, Behold, I (Yahshua) come as a thief.  These words are also found in Matthew 24:37-44 denoting when the Lord returns and in Rev.3:3 where he warns the church at Sardis, who are indeed Christians, to remember what they have heard, and hold fast, and repent.  If they do not watch these things, he will come upon them as a thief.  He is saying for them to hold fast to their faith, and know he will return for them, not as a thief, which is when he comes to separate the wheat from the tares.  If they "fall away from the faith", " I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee."

It is only those who he comes as a thief for, that will not know what hour he comes.  Those are taken out of his kingdom and destroyed.  Those that are raptured do know!!! Please read The Thief in the Night for the in depth study of this.

The words, " Behold, I come as a thief", are uttered here at the end of the tribulation, not at the beginning of the tribulation as pre-tribulation teachers would have you believe.  This vial alone, which is certainly identified by John as the last, and those words uttered therein, destroys the pre trib teaching.

" And the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air; and there came a great voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, It is done.

And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty and earthquake, and so great.

And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon come in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath.

And every island fled away, and the mountains were not found.

And there fell upon men a great hail out of heaven, every stone about the weight of a talent: and men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail; for the plague thereof was exceeding great." Rev.16:17-21

Just as in the 7th Trumpet this vial was poured out into the air.

It is Done.  This means the Tribulation is finished.  Done.  Just as the 7th Trumpet said The Mystery of God is Finished.

We saw in the last Vial, Yahshua was coming as a thief.  He has come and raptured the " two witness"/ 144,000/manchild.  And he has returned at Armageddon to separate the wheat from the chaff.  When he comes as a thief, he removes the wicked/non-believers from his kingdom.  Those that were not "raptured" earlier in the day are few.  The remaining Jews and Gentiles who haven't taken the mark of the beast, became believers when they saw the "rapture/resurrection of the dead".  They will remain on the earth (the wheat) and inhabit the earth for 1000 years as Yahshua reigns as King of Kings, Lord of Lords.  The saints will rule and reign with Him.  Halilehjuah !!!!
