BRIEF HISTORY

Worried because of the increasing number of superheroes in US, the russians asked genetist Dr Krenshikov to create a hero for them to increase their strategic importance. Under command of general Trenzov, the Rocket Red Labs were contructed in Siberia and many volunteers from their army agreed to cooperate in the experiments. However, all of them died until Green Lantern Kilowog arrived to Russia to control the project and added the power of his ring to the experiment. The first Rocket Red was Josed Denisovich and his physical powers were increased by rockets attached to a suit developed by Kilowog.

When the rest of the GL went to Russia to investigate his activities, the RR Brigade attacked them and the confrontation almost ended in a nuclear war. When Kilowog realized what he had done, he broke his ties with the russians and fought Josef to his death. Then, he left, disgusted with the use they had given to his technology.

Years later, when the League fought a group of aliens in russian territory, the Brigade attacked the heroes until they learnt about the aliens' purposes and agreed to cooperate with them to avoid a nuclear disaster. These Red Rockets had been genetically manipulated to increase their abilities and make them less dependent of their armor.

Eventually, when the UNO decided to acknowledge the Justice League International, they decided to make them accept two members to please both the russians and the americans: Captain Atom and Rocket Red 7. Rocket Red 7 turned out to be a nice friendly guy with a weird sense of humour who gladly cooperated with the League even though he had fought them earlier. He was briefly replaced by a Manhunter during the Millenium crisis. After that, he left the League when it stopped being International to become american once again.
