BRIEF HISTORY

Interested in speed since he read novels of Whip Whirlwind. Jay majored in Physics and Chemistry at Midwestern University and played football at the time. He was nicked Leadfoot by the coach, though. However, one day he was analysing a heavy water chemical when he had an accident and was exposed to the compounds. Rescued in the last minute by a friend, he went into a coma for weeks, but when he awoke he discovered that he was now extremely fastHe used his brand new powers to win football, but he decided that he should do good with them. Thus, he transferred to Keystone University for a master in Chemistry and Physics and started acting as a hero named the Flash. Jay could bow moves faster than light, had control of his molecular vibration to pass through solid objects and could keep his head slightly out of phase to hid his identity.

After graduating, he started to work at Keystone Labs. Eventually, he met the Green Lantern and they founded the Justice Society of America. At the time, the JSA members were bathed in chronal radiations, which kept them vital for decades. During the war, Jay joined the All-Star Squadron, and after it finished he returned to the JSA until the early 1950s. Then, the US government demanded that heroes revealed their secret identities to prove that they were loyal to the country. Jay left and married his girlfriend Joan Williams. Together, they boutght Keystone Labs. Eventually, Jay revealed his identity to the public, and kept acting as a part time hero. However, The Thinker, The Shade and The Fiddler managed to remove Keystone City from the memory of humanity and trapped the people inside. They stayed that way until a new speedter took the Flash identity and freed them. Jay soon afterwards teamed up with his old friends in the JSA and began to fight crime at least semi-actively in Keystone City. Jay and Barry Allen became friends until Barry died during the Crisis. After some more fights, the JSA members and Jay started to think that their time was out, but they are still trying to guide the new hero generations.
