The sole survivor of the doomed planet Krypton, Kal-El was rocketed to Earth, where he was found and adopted by Jonathan
and Martha Kent . As he grew up, the Kents taught their adopted son, who they named Clark, to use his extraordinary powers
for truth and justice. Intially using his fantastic powers covertly, Clark was eventually forced to create a costumed identity
he could use when using his abilities in public. So now, when he's not reporting for the Daily Planet as Clark Kent, Kal-El
protects the city of Metropolis, and the rest of the globe, as the Man of Steel -- Superman! |

Due to the recent loss and re-energizing of his powers, Superman's powers have undergone a dramatic transformation. Superman
is now able to transform his body into pure energy, which allows him to fly at near light speeds and allow bullets to pass
through his energy matrix. The exact nature and full extent of Superman's new abilites, as well as whether or not they are part
of a permanent transformation, remain to be seen. |
